Luna is in season. We will know how the breeding goes in 2 weeks.
December 2016:
Good things take time! We chose the stud for our next litter- Charly von der Emsaue
He is a great hunter and has wonderful personality, his siblings tested very successfully in Germany.
Charly also has near zero chance of being epilepsy carrier, which was a very important selection criteria for us since our Luna also has near zero chance. Charly was also imported from Germany and he now lives in Nebraska, where we'll travel for the breeding. I will now start taking deposits, first from the people on the waiting list.
Update November 2016:
Good news! Luna (Beena) has been approved for breeding by SMCNA Breed Council.
Update September 2016:
OFA hips certification arrived and her hips are EXCELLENT! Only 41 SM out of 192 tested received "Excellent". Certification number is VDHKLM140745, anyone can verify it on OFA site (note her registered name is Beena)
Luna will be bred in February 2017, pups will be ready to go to their new homes around June.
I am getting advice from some very experienced people, including professional geneticist. So we'll get there eventually. Dog breeding is tricky business if done right.
